New Posts!

Okay...I know I have totally slacked off in the blogging department this summer, and I don't really have an excuse(I'd love to say I've been so busy that I haven't had time to, but that just isn't true! I think the boys and I have been having to0 much fun out in the sun!) But, here are a couple posts, and I have a few more coming...hopefully in the next couple of days, but I'm not promising anything!! They'll get posted eventually:)

Hudson turns 4!!

Hudson turned 4 years old on June 10! We were up at my sisters house that same weekend, so we were able to have a birthday party with my side of the family(which we aren't normally able to do). Hudson was so excited to celebrate his birthday there!
He loved all the presents and has played pretty much non-stop with all his new toys...he especially loved the big tractor! And he kept telling me that he wanted a chocolate-brownie cake with an iron-man guy riding a four-wheeler on top. Who knows why he wanted iron-man? He doesn't even know who he is. I think he saw it on a commercial...goofy kid!:)
Then that same weekend after we got home, we had a party with all of Talen's family. He loved his new cowboy hat from grandma and grandpa.
Then, it seems like every year at Hudson's party, we have races in the backyard to get the kids ready to race at the upcoming Bundy Reunion.

Branding Calves

Back at the end of May, Talen and the boys and I went out to the Arizona Strip to help brand his grandpa's calves (well, Talen helped...the boys played in the dirt and chased the calves and I made sure they didn't run away:). Hudson actually didn't feel the best, but Boston had a great time. Talen had him riding and roping the baby calves, and he loved every minute.

Last day of School!

Today is Hudson's last day of his first year of preschool. I can't believe that he is going to be four soon!
They are having a water party and Hudson was so excited. Usually it is like pulling teeth for him to get himself dressed and ready in the morning, but not today. He was in him swimsuit as soon as he got out of bed!
Hudson has loved having his cousin Bladen in his class.
And, of course Boston had to get in on the action too. He was not happy that he didn't get to stay for the party. He had to dress in his swim shorts and have his water gun too.
This is what I came up with for Hudson's present to Teacher Jackie. I've seen others that have used the wooden clip-boards, but when I went to get one, of course they were all gone! So I got a clear one and it was actually a lot easier. I think it turned out pretty cute!

Gone Fishin'

Last weekend we took the boys fishing at a little pond. Hudson and Boston were so excited!
Talen and I were the only ones who got 'real' fishing poles. The boys just liked to slap theirs on the water...I think they scared the fish away.
Boston lost interest in the fish real quick. He wandered all over the place and was pretty excited to find this duck.
Talen was really hoping one of us could get a fish so Hudson could reel it in, but they jsut weren't biting that day. We could see a ton of fish all over and following the lures in, but no biters. Hudson was a little bummed, but we just told him that they weren't hungry and somebody else had probably already fed them that day.
All in all though, it was a fun day...and neither of the boys ended up in the water. SUCCESS!

A Fun Easter Weekend

We went up to my sister's for Easter this year and the kids had a blast. On Friday, we took them swimming and they had such a good time. Then Saturday, we got this picture of all the cousins together: (minus Dani...she was sleeping)
Sunday morning they woke up to a trail of jelly beans leading to their baskets.

The kids with their loot. By the end of the day our boys actually ended up with three easter baskets....and waaaaayyyyy too much candy.
After a yummy breakfast at Brandy's we headed home for dinner at grandma and grandpa Bundy's. Then an easter egg hunt for the kids.

Every year we have gotten a picture with all the kids and grandpa. This year was so much easier than the last ones...not a single one was crying:)
Grandma, grandpa and the boys!
Our fam!
Happy Easter!!

No Training Wheels!

For about a month now, Hudson has been riding his bike without training wheels. Before then, he was really not interested at all, but now it's all he wants to do. He is so proud of himself and has even learned to start himself going without any help from Talen or me.

Potty Pro!

About a week and a half ago we started potty training Boston. I was not thrilled with the idea of having to do this again so soon, but it turned out to be much better than I was expecting.
We had a potty party, and trained a doll how to potty first. Boston was not so into this. But he got treats, so he went along with it.
Then, when we brought out his big boy underpants, he was excited...but just about getting to open another present. NOT about putting them on. He cried and cried when I took off his last diaper and put him in underpants.
Don't let his cheesy grins fool you...he was not so happy about what was going on. He would cry every time we went to sit on the potty.
Once I got him on the potty he would sit their for a while and play...and very occasionally he would go in the potty...which I tried to be very excited about...but, still, not so exciting for him.
He had an okay day, so I still let him open his potty training present that we'd been working towards all day. He loved it!
However, the next few days were a little rough. The very next day, he got sick and we put the whole potty training thing on pause...it's not easy potty train when your throwing up! After that, we got right back to it. He knew when he needed to go to the bathroom, but would never get there in time. He was having several accidents a day and was actually excited to get to put on new underpants...so it wasn't a big deal to him. So, I started to think what would motivate him to get to the potty before he needed to go. This is what I came up with:
Boston loves money...but since he swallowed a penny a few months ago, I haven't let him have any at all. That was the ticket for him. I told him that he would get a 'money' every time he went on the potty...then he could buy a treat out of the gumball machine with it. And it worked!! He now tells me every time he needs to go and has had very, very few accidents. He actually like sitting on the potty now:)
This has also been motivating for him...he gets to put a sticker on everytime he goes on the potty. He doesn't know it yet, but when he fills it all the way up we are going to set up the bounce house. We just need to wait for a good day!
I am sooooooo glad that he is doing so well. Hudson was a lot harder and it was extremely stressful. I have been dreading having to do it again...but thankfully Boston has been cooperating and I haven't stressed over it at all! And, no more buying diapers...wahoo!!

A Little Creativity

I've been a little crafty lately and wanted to post a few things that I've done.
I made these cookies for Hudson's preschool. It was his turn with the treat bucket and I happened to notice that they were going to be talking about penguins that day. I found this somewhere on the interent using cupcakes...I just did them on sugar cookies.
Then, for Hudson's Valentine's Day party at school, I was just going to let Hudson have free reign on a shoebox with some paint and stickers...but Talen said that his treat box actually had to be something. This is what we came up with...a dump truck:
And for his Valentine's, I made some heart-shaped crayons out of old broken crayons we had. Talen said that they looked like candy...so hopefully none of the kids tried to eat them!
Hudson was very excited for his first Valentine's party. He was so excited to come home with a dump truck full of goodies!

Catch-up of posts: Christmas!

Okay...so I am well aware of how late this post is...but, better late than never, right? I'll just skim over the best parts:
Christmas eve we had dinner at Shaunelle and Dusty's. Then the kids got to open their pajamas from grandma and grandpa and play a gift exchange game. They all loved it.
Christmas morning. All Hudson wanted was a big green tractor...he was sure excited to see it sitting under the tree!
Boston was totally into opening presents. He was so excited about everything...even clothes and the boring stuff!
This was our favorite gift for the kids. We don't have a lot of room for more toys in our house, so we decided to get stuff for outside. We set it up at the grandparents and the kids played on it all day.
We had a really great Christmas...the boys are at such a fun age and loved every minute of it!!

A blog worth reading...

A friend of mine posted this on her blog, and I just felt like I needed to keep it going. Everyone should read about this family. Just be warned that you will cry...so have a box of tissues nearby. The link starts you at the beginning of their tragedy(Feb 1st), but read until the most recent post. It is long...but well worth the read. This is not a family I know, but they have told a story that will strengthen the faith and testimony of just about anyone...including mine. It has also reminded me just how precious life is and how much I love my children. Instead of thinking how much they drive me crazy all the time, I am going to try and focus on just how lucky I am to have 2 healthy little boys and enjoy all their excitement and enthusiasm for life...because you never know what tomorrow may bring.

Boston is 2!

I can't believe how fast the last two years have gone. Boston was born two years ago today, and it seems like my baby isn't so much a baby any more. He is so big, and there isn't anything he thinks he can't do. He is still a little momma's boy, so I'll enjoy that as long as it will last:)
Yesterday, we had a family birthday party for Boston and Grandma. He was so excited and couldn't wait til he got to open his presents.
Waiting for everyone to get there. We had to guard the present stack so he wouldn't open them before the party actually started.
I think Hudson really wanted it to be his birthday. He helped open every single present, and got really upset when he didn't get to play with the toys first.
Boston is a present-opening pro. With his birthday being so close after Christmas, he still knew just what to do.
I think blowing out the candles may have been just as exciting as opening presents. He's been to birthday parties recently, but never gets to blow out the candles...so he was excited it was finally his turn!
This sweater was a gift from Aunt Margie and Grandma and Grandpa Great. It goes perfectly with the hat that Margie got for Boston just after he was born. If you ask Boston what it says he'll answer "B-S-O-N". That's how he spells his name:)
It has been an adventure watching this crazy little boy grow-up. He talks so much and runs everywhere. He gives the best hugs and kisses...and isn't shy about handing them out. I am excited to see where the next year will take him. We love you so much Boston!! Happy Birthday!!!!!
